This is one of the most commonly confused points about Deriv’s TradingView integration, largely because there are genuinely two different setups, and only one of them requires a separate account. TradingView’s own help documentation, linked from their site, confirms that a standard TradingView account is generally required to use their platform independently but that’s not the whole picture once Deriv enters the mix.
And if you have not yet set up your own Deriv trading account you can do that here.
Myth: You Always Need a Separate TradingView Login to See TradingView Charts on Deriv
Reality: If you’re using the TradingView charts embedded inside Deriv, no separate TradingView account is needed at all. It’s built directly into the platform, using your existing Deriv login. You won’t be prompted to create a TradingView username, verify a TradingView email, or manage a second password. From your perspective, it simply looks like part of Deriv’s own toolkit.

Myth: Connecting to TradingView.com Works the Same Way
Reality: This is the one case where a TradingView account does come into play. If you want to trade Deriv’s markets directly from TradingView.com’s own interface, you’ll need a TradingView account to log into that site in the first place, separate from your Deriv account. This makes sense once you consider the direction of the connection: in this setup, you’re operating from within TradingView’s ecosystem and connecting Deriv as a broker to it, rather than the other way around, so TradingView’s own account requirements naturally still apply.

Myth: Signing Up for TradingView Costs Money
Reality: TradingView offers a free tier, so creating an account to use the direct integration doesn’t require paying for anything. Paid plans exist for advanced features like additional indicators per chart and extended historical data, but they’re not a requirement for connecting to Deriv the free tier is fully sufficient for linking your Deriv account and trading Deriv’s markets from TradingView’s interface.

Myth: Both Integrations Require the Same Setup
Reality: They don’t. The Deriv advanced charting version is essentially plug-and-play with your existing account, while the TradingView.com version involves an actual account creation and connection process, covered in our guide on How to Connect Deriv to TradingView.
The Short Version
If you just want TradingView’s charting tools while staying inside Deriv, no separate account is needed. If you want to trade from TradingView’s own site using your Deriv account, you’ll need a free TradingView account to get there. Our guide on How to Access TradingView From the Deriv Dashboard covers the account-free route in full.
Clearing up confusion like this is part of getting comfortable with any platform, and it’s worth knowing Deriv also has a side that has nothing to do with charts or accounts at all but earning simply by referring others. Here’s where that starts.
